Today was Cody's first official day back at work! He looked at me on Saturday and was like "Well, summer is officially over. This is now just another weekend before work." He's not stressed at all (yet!) as this week he's expecting to be fairly easy and relaxed as he just prepares for school to kick off. I'm sure he could use prayer once this week starts to end and the reality hits for students arriving next Monday. This year he'll be teaching 3 courses at Alamo Heights: Geometry, Pre-AP Geometry, and Pre-AP Algebra II. It'll be a totally different year going from low-level classes to dealing with Pre-AP students and parents! Hopefully it'll be a change he enjoys.
I wanted to share my favorite worship song with everyone. We played it last night at The Gathering, and every time I hear it, it just reminds me that God is in control, and that it'll be okay -no matter what is ever going on at the time. And it reminds me to be thankful for everything I have and everyone I love. I truly love the lyrics to this song... I just wanted to share.
Everyone needs compassion.
Love that's never failing;
Let mercy fall on me.
Everyone needs forgiveness.
The kindness of a Saviour;
The Hope of nations.
Saviour, He can move the mountains.
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation.
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.
So take me as You find me.
All my fears and failures,
Fill my life again.
I give my life to follow.
Everything I believe in,
Now I surrender.
Saviour, He can move the mountains.
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation.
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.
Shine your light and let the whole world see,
We're singing for the glory of the risen King, Jesus.
Shine your light and let the whole world see,
We're singing for the glory of the risen King, Jesus.
My Saviour, He can move the mountains.
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation.
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.
